The day has come where it's time to say goodbye to one adventure to welcome a new one. I couldn't be more grateful for the lifelong friends I have made, sights I have seen, and experience I have gained. I can't explain how terrifying it is to pack up your life and move across the country, without knowing a soul, but I couldn't be happier that I stepped out of my comfort zone. I discovered a new passion for the mountains which I will now forever call home. So, my beautiful Lake Louise, it's not goodbye but see you later!

One of my favourite aspects of working on the front desk in Lake Louise are the FAM (familiarization) trips. In order to be able to sell products for our partnered tour companies, we often get to try them out! One of my absolute favourites was dogsledding across the great divide. The great divide is a trail which separates Alberta and British Columbia, and makes for a beautiful winter wonderland.
The past winter I took up a hobby which I quickly fell in love with..Yes I decided to try snowboarding again despite breaking my wrist the first time...and yes I ended up in a cast again.
My mom may have successfully surprised me, however I also had a surprise waiting for her. What better way to see the beautiful Rocky Mountains than from a helicopter? We made our way to Rockies Heli Canada, off the Saskatchewan Crossing where we loaded into the helicopter. While being rewarded with the most amazing views, our pilot landed in a valley where we then had an hour stop. We were guided to a secluded waterfall, with time to relax and take in the surreal surroundings.
One of my mom's bucket list trips has always been Lake Louise. For as long as I remember it was always our desktop wallpaper on the family computer. Her dream finally came true when she flew out for a visit in September...along with a surprise in the trunk of the rental car. As I could barely focus at work all day, 3:00 finally rolled around and my mom was waiting in front of the Inn in the typical Corolla rental. After tears of excitement we made our way to staff accommodations where I opened the trunk to not find the "groceries" but my sister. Words can't express the feeling to see both of your best friends after 8 months of being apart. |
