After this amazing journey of 10 weeks in South Africa, my most treasurable moment was being together as a group in Cape Town. After many accomplishments and workplace obstacles, I believe that Cape Town brought us all together as a group and ended the trip with a few days of down time to reflect upon the spectacular experience that allowed us each to grow as individuals. After 9 hours of abseiling, everyone acted as a group to ensure everybody was ok, and supported each other as some of us conquered fears. I am so grateful for every opportunity this trip has given me and I hope one day I can return to beautiful South Africa! Thank you Seneca for making this life changing experience possible.

Out of all the places I've been in my life, Cape Town is so far my favourite. I've never seen such a beautiful city and wish we had more than just 5 days here :( The scenery is amazing with mountains on one side, and ocean on the other. So far we've went up Table Mountain, abseiled, visited beaches and enjoyed the hop on, hop off. It's been an amazing end to our journey! Hopefully one day I can return.
Now that the days of this incredible adventure are coming to an end, I often think about what I enjoyed the most and what I will really miss. I believe that my most favourite thing about South Africa was by far the amazing animals I got to see. During our first week in Africa we saw so much game at the Pilanesberg National Park. Zulu Nyala was also a great opportunity to view the animals! These are animals that you'd see nowhere else which is what makes Africa unique. Lately at The Lido I have been bar-tending and serving quite a bit. This was a job that I was very discouraged about and didn't have much confidence after my experiences at Zulu Nyala. One night us students worked a party of 100 for a 60th birthday party. At the end of the night one of the ladies pulled me to the side and explained how she's never had such amazing service and wished she could write me a report. We exchanged contact info and the next day I got a nice email from her thanking me again for taking care of her. My manager also informed how how I've done a great job and that the barmen have also told him so. This made me feel great and much more confident in an area that I wasn't very experienced in :)
I dread the day I have to say goodbye to these little ones. Our routine of spending almost every night together brightens our day after long hours of work. No matter how bad of a day it's been, as soon as they come running up with hugs and giggles the day automatically turns around :) On Monday us girls had a day out to go and visit the lions at Thaba Ya. I cannot even describe how cute these little guys were! We had about an hour with them. We had the chance to play with the 4 week olds as well as the older ones!
We are now at The Lido Hotel in Joburg for our second placement! I must say it is quite the change from Zulu Nyala. First off it's in the city as compared to in the middle of the bush. It's also much cooler which I must say is nice. At Zulu Nyala we barely got any rain, and well today we're pretty much underwater here at The Lido. Im excited to see what this new adventure brings and can't wait to learn even more :)
